Portfolia

About

Portfolia is a San Mateo, California–based venture investing platform founded to engage women as leading venture investors and to back high-potential companies addressing unmet needs in health and innovation. Since its launch, the firm has built a reputation as the most active women’s health investor in the United States, combining capital with community to scale solutions that directly impact women’s lives.

Investment Focus

Portfolia invests in early- to growth-stage companies across health and technology, with a distinctive emphasis on women’s health. Its strategy focuses on three major categories:

  • Women-specific conditions such as fertility, menopause, maternal health, gynecology, and women’s oncology
  • Conditions that affect women differently, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease
  • Conditions that disproportionately affect women, such as autoimmune disease, osteoporosis, anxiety and depression, lung cancer, and eating disorders

Fund

In August 2025, Portfolia launched Women’s Health Fund IV, open to accredited investors, qualified purchasers, and family offices. The fund builds on the success of three prior women’s health vehicles, establishing Portfolia as the most active investor in this category in the U.S. To date, the firm has completed 46 health-related investments across fertility, childbirth, menopause, autoimmune disease, oncology, cardiovascular health, mental health, nutrition, and longevity.

The first investment from Women’s Health Fund IV is in Gameto, a clinical-stage biotechnology company reprogramming female cells to transform fertility and hormonal care. With its fourth fund, Portfolia continues to expand its position as a specialized leader in women’s health, targeting innovations with both high impact and strong return potential.
