Verified Capital

About

Verified Capital is a San Francisco-based venture capital firm founded by Kris Fredrickson, a former partner at Coatue Management. Established to back technology companies at any stage of their journey, the firm is designed to operate without the traditional constraints of stage focus, sector specialization, ownership targets, or board requirements.

Investment Focus

Verified Capital is stage and sector agnostic, allowing it to partner with founders across industries and growth phases. Its focus is on working closely with a select group of entrepreneurs who are building enduring, high-impact businesses.

Fund

In July 2025, Verified Capital announced the close of its debut fund at $175 million.

Limited partners include prominent tech founders and executives such as Instacart cofounder and former CEO Apoorva Mehta, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, and Harvey AI CEO Winston Weinberg. Other notable backers include investor Elad Gil, as well as institutions such as Adams Street Partners, Commonfund, and Northwestern University’s endowment.

The firm intends to make only 8 to 10 core investments per fund, dedicating significant time and resources to each portfolio company.

Other Information

Leadership

The firm is led by founder and managing partner Kris Fredrickson. Before launching Verified Capital, Fredrickson was a partner at Coatue Management, where he invested in and advised high-growth technology companies. His experience spans venture and growth equity investing, as well as close operational engagement with founders.

Investment Strategy

Verified Capital’s approach centers on selectivity and deep engagement. By limiting the number of core investments in each fund, the firm ensures that its team can work intensively with founders to support long-term success. The absence of traditional investment constraints provides flexibility to tailor each partnership to the needs of the business and its leadership team.

Notable Investments

As a newly launched fund, Verified Capital’s portfolio has not yet been publicly disclosed, though its broad mandate suggests potential investments across consumer technology, enterprise software, AI, fintech, and other high-growth sectors.

Notable Exits

The firm has not yet recorded notable exits.

Other

The firm’s model is designed for high-touch, long-term partnerships and is backed by a strong network of prominent founders, investors, and institutional LPs.
