Vinted Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of Vinted, Europe’s largest secondhand marketplace platform. Launched in 2025 and headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, Vinted Ventures was created to invest in and accelerate the next generation of re-commerce startups - companies that are reshaping the way the world consumes through circular, tech-enabled models. Building on Vinted’s own scale and profitability, the VC arm seeks to provide founders with more than just capital, offering direct access to strategic support from senior Vinted leaders and a network deeply embedded in the re-commerce value chain. Vinted itself was founded in 2008 and has grown into one of Europe’s best-known startups, boasting tens of millions of users and becoming Lithuania’s first unicorn. With the launch of Vinted Ventures, the company is now extending its mission by backing other startups building toward a more sustainable, consumer-first future.
Vinted Ventures backs growth-stage companies, typically at the Series A to Series C stages, that are innovating across the entire re-commerce ecosystem. Its investment thesis centers on supporting startups that improve or transform the experience of buying and selling secondhand goods.
Key focus areas include re-commerce marketplaces; shipping, logistics, and reverse logistics innovation; payment solutions tailored to resale platforms; AI and technology that enhances product discovery, authentication, or inventory management; consumer behaviour tools that influence sustainable shopping.
The firm targets startups that align with Vinted’s belief in sustainable consumption and long-term consumer value, especially those that address friction in the re-commerce experience.
In April 2025, Vinted Ventures announced the launch of its dedicated investment arm, backed by a €10 million fund. Although Vinted has not publicly disclosed the exact size of the capital pool available long term, it has committed to deploying between €500,000 and €10 million per investment, with plans to make up to three investments per year.
This fund is aimed at scaling re-commerce infrastructure globally, leveraging the core strengths of Vinted’s platform, including expertise in shipping, payments, platform growth, and operational efficiency. Vinted Ventures differs from traditional VCs by combining capital with hands-on support from senior Vinted executives, who bring domain-specific knowledge from having scaled a marketplace to millions of users.
With this fund, Vinted Ventures aims to become the go-to investor for startups building complementary technologies and services within the re-commerce ecosystem. The fund is also part of Vinted’s broader strategy to reinvest its financial success into driving innovation and positive environmental impact across the consumer goods sector.
Leadership
Vinted Ventures is overseen by Milda Jasaitė, Senior Director of Corporate Development at Vinted, and is supported by a team of six - four focused on sourcing and evaluating deals, and two dedicated to portfolio development. The broader initiative is backed by Vinted’s CEO Thomas Plantenga, who has been instrumental in guiding the company’s growth to profitability and advocating for the role of circular business models in tech.
Investment Strategy
The investment strategy of Vinted Ventures is purpose-built for the re-commerce space. Rather than adopting a purely financial lens, the team evaluates potential investments through the dual filters of strategic synergy and operational impact. The firm is particularly interested in companies that can benefit from the scale, user base, and experience of Vinted, and that, in return, offer technology or services that can reinforce Vinted’s mission to make secondhand the first choice.
As a corporate VC, Vinted Ventures maintains a focused and selective deployment cadence, opting for a few high-impact investments annually rather than broad portfolio diversification. This ensures each company receives meaningful, senior-level attention and strategic integration opportunities. Startups gain access to product teams, data resources, and operational insights that only a scaled re-commerce business like Vinted can provide.
Notable Investments
As of April 2025, Vinted Ventures has not publicly disclosed any investments but has stated that initial deal activity is underway.
