VitaminºC

About

VitaminºC is a debut venture capital firm founded in 2026 by Nathalie Moral in Zurich and Sophie Lamparter in San Francisco, investing exclusively in climate technology at pre-seed and seed stage, targeting both climate mitigation and human adaptation.

Investment Focus

VitaminºC focuses on the largest climate levers: energy, food and agriculture, carbon removal, and human adaptation. Every investment must demonstrate the potential to mitigate or remove at least 100,000 tons of CO2, or improve the resilience of 100,000 people within five years.

The firm sees the current slowdown in global climate tech funding as a defining opportunity to invest at more attractive valuations with stronger fundamentals.

Fund

VitaminºC announced the first close of its debut fund at €18 million ($20 million) in March 2026. The fund is backed by European entrepreneurial families and supported by climate tech founders and experts including Jasmine Kent (CTO and co-founder of Dufour Aerospace and Daedalean) and climate policy expert Florian Egli.

The fund invests €0.5 million to €1.5 million per company at pre-seed and seed stage. Operating from Zurich and San Francisco, the structure gives portfolio companies simultaneous access to European deep tech ecosystems and US customers, capital, and talent.

Leadership

Nathalie Moral is a founding partner based in Zurich. She was an early backer of Climeworks, Europe's first climate tech unicorn, and co-founded Clima Now to bridge venture, philanthropy, and policy capital. Her background includes roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Bain & Company, and LGT Venture Philanthropy (now Lightrock).

Sophie Lamparter is a founding partner based in San Francisco. She spent 15 years helping European deep tech companies grow in the US, beginning as a science and technology diplomat at Swissnex San Francisco. She built the first US team at MindMaze during its growth from university spinout to unicorn, and later co-founded DART Ventures.

Investment Strategy

VitaminºC writes initial checks between €0.5 million and €1.5 million at pre-seed and seed stage. Each investment must meet a measurable impact threshold: the potential to remove or mitigate 100,000 tons of CO2, or improve the resilience of 100,000 people within five years. The US-Europe presence gives portfolio companies simultaneous access to European R&D and US customers, talent, and investors.

Notable Investments

VitaminºC's first portfolio investment is:

  • Satellites on Fire (Argentine-US startup using AI and satellite data for wildfire detection and prevention)

Other

The firm's blended capital model, combining venture, philanthropy, and policy capital, is built on Nathalie Moral's experience co-founding Clima Now. As US climate policy faces uncertainty, American founders are increasingly looking to Europe's stable regulatory environment, making the cross-Atlantic bridge valuable in both directions.
