Volution

About

Volution is a London-based venture capital firm focused on investing in high-growth companies operating at the intersection of FinTech, AI, and SaaS. Founded with a mission to back innovation that enhances productivity in capital markets and enterprise software, the firm partners with startups that are scaling from early traction into breakout growth. Volution is known for its deep specialization in vertical SaaS, infrastructure software, and applied AI, and has built a portfolio of companies solving real-world efficiency and automation challenges across financial services and enterprise operations. With a European foundation and a growing international network, Volution operates with a thesis-driven approach and places strong emphasis on ESG responsibility and sustainable scaling practices.

Investment Focus

Volution targets post-Series A startups in sectors where software and data are driving productivity gains. The firm backs companies with proven business models and product-market fit that are ready to accelerate growth toward Series B and beyond.

Key investment areas include vertical SaaS platforms for industry-specific workflows, FinTech tools modernising financial markets and services, applied AI for enterprise and capital markets, infrastructure software for scaling digital operations. The firm seeks companies with strong recurring revenue, deep technical teams, and the ambition to become category leaders in global markets.

Fund

In April 2025, Volution announced the launch of its second dedicated fund, a $100 million vehicle raised through a strategic Co-GP partnership with Japanese VC heavyweight SBI Investment Co., Ltd. This cross-border collaboration enhances Volution’s access to capital and expands its reach into Asia, giving portfolio companies new pathways for international scaling and follow-on funding.

The new fund will focus on post-Series A startups across Europe and beyond, with targeted investments in FinTech, AI, and vertical SaaS - sectors where Volution sees high growth potential and opportunities for platform dominance. The fund is already active, having deployed capital into its first two investments: one in a FinTech business, and another in an AI company.

The success of Volution’s first fund, which delivered an average 300% revenue growth across its portfolio and three successful exits, laid the groundwork for Fund II. Backed by a mix of institutional LPs and strategic partners, the fund combines traditional venture investment with a strong ESG thesis through its Carbon Carry initiative, which reinvests a portion of profits into carbon offsetting, particularly relevant for AI companies with intensive compute demands.

Volution’s Fund II signals a doubling down on its thesis that software-led innovation in capital-heavy industries will define the next decade of venture returns.
