White Star Capital is a global multi-stage venture capital and technology investment firm founded in 2014 by Eric Martineau-Fortin and Jean-Francois Marcoux. The firm partners with founders building internationally ambitious technology companies, operating from hubs in New York, London, Montreal, Toronto, Paris, and Milan, with a growing presence in Berlin, the Middle East, and Asia. White Star has grown from a five-person team in 2014 to more than 50 people across eight offices, and has recorded 22 exits from a portfolio of over 100 companies.
White Star Capital invests in exceptional founders at the Series A and Series B stages who have the ambition, talent, and product to scale internationally. The firm provides the global network and operational expertise founders need to expand across markets from their first institutional round through to IPO.
Fund IV deepens White Star's core venture strategy across its geographic hubs in New York, London, Toronto, Montreal, Paris, Milan, and Berlin.
Sector focus centers on physical AI, AI-powered commerce infrastructure, healthcare, and financial services, with an emphasis on AI companies that combine deep technical differentiation, commercial traction in legacy industries, or a proprietary data moat.
White Star also operates a dedicated North American Seed Fund for pre-seed and seed-stage investing, and a Digital Asset Fund focused on crypto networks and blockchain-enabled companies.
White Star Capital held the final close of Fund IV, its fourth core global venture fund, at $250 million ($350 million CAD) in August 2026, following an 18-month fundraising process.
Together with its inaugural North American Seed Fund and several special purpose vehicles, the firm has raised more than $350 million USD in fresh capital to back founders from Seed through Series B.
Fund IV's limited partners include returning Canadian backers Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Investissement Québec, Desjardins, and Teralys Capital, along with a small subset of Canadian banks.
European backers include Italian sovereign wealth fund CDP Equity, France's Swen Capital Partners and Groupe ADP, and the pension fund of the States of Guernsey.
The fund has already deployed capital into eight companies, including Sequen, OatFi, AMI Labs, and Trayd (New York), Veesion (Paris), and Tetrix (Montreal).
