AI venture funding in 2026

AI is the most crowded focus area in venture capital this year. So far in 2026, 210 funds that list AI as a focus have launched or closed, raising around $97.8 billion between the funds that disclosed a size. The biggest raises come from large multi-stage firms, including Thrive Capital at $10 billion, Sequoia Capital at $7 billion, Founders Fund at $6 billion and Bessemer Venture Partners at $5.75 billion.

Behind those headline numbers sits a long list of smaller, earlier funds. The median AI fund on this list is $100 million, and 24 funds raised less than $25 million. For founders raising a pre-seed or seed round, the smaller and newer funds are usually the more realistic targets, since they write checks that fit early rounds and are looking for their first portfolio companies right after they close.

The United States accounts for about half of the list, with 107 funds. The United Kingdom follows with 24 and Germany with 12, and there is steady activity in Canada, Israel, France, Spain and India.

Most of these funds pair AI with another focus area. 63 of them also list deeptech, 44 fintech and 35 enterprise software, as more investors treat AI as something that runs across every sector. September was the busiest month so far, with 35 new AI funds announced.

The 100 most recently announced funds are listed below with their headquarters, fund size and announcement month. EverythingStartups members can search all of them and also see each fund's check size, stage focus, partner names and direct contact details.

Questions founders ask

Why pitch new funds instead of established ones?

A fund that just closed has its whole investment period ahead of it, so it is actively looking for its first companies. Older funds may be mostly invested and only doing follow-ons.

How often is this list updated?

New funds are added every week as they announce a launch or a close.

What do members get beyond this list?

EverythingStartups members see each fund's check size, stage focus, regions, investment strategy, and the names, emails and LinkedIn profiles of its investment team, with search and filters across every fund in the database.
