Anterra Capital is an Amsterdam and Boston-based venture firm founded in 2013 by Adam Anders, Philip Austin, and Maarten Goossens, the first transatlantic agrifoodtech fund. The firm invests in and builds companies applying life science and biotechnology innovations and digital solutions to the global food and agriculture system, from farmer to consumer. Anterra manages over $500M across three funds and co-founded F&A Next with Rabobank and Wageningen University, Europe's leading annual agrifoodtech gathering.
Anterra backs companies across the full food and agriculture value chain; crop protection, animal health, produce logistics, food retail, farm management software, and consumer nutrition.
The firm focuses on two technology platforms: breakthrough biotechnology (novel biologicals, genomics, next-generation chemistry) and digital solutions (software, AI, data platforms). It invests globally with a primary focus on North America and Europe, typically entering at seed or Series A.
Anterra Capital Fund III announced a first close of $100M in June 2026, targeting a final close of $200M.
LPs include Rabobank, Novo Holdings, Zoetis, and Eight Roads (Fidelity International), alongside institutional investors, food system operators, and family offices across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
LP operators collectively farm more than 13 million acres and include leaders of major CPG, bakery, produce logistics, and food retail businesses.
Fund III has already made two investments: Anchr (AI-native food distribution back-office platform, co-invested with a16z Speedrun) and Animerra (veterinary biologics company founded and built by Anterra).
