The firm's newest fund is built around what it calls "life after AGI," backing startups building the application and infrastructure layer that becomes valuable once artificial general intelligence is a widely available baseline capability, rather than funding the race to AGI itself.

Its sector focus spans AI applications, AI infrastructure, physical AI, commerce, fintech, industrials, security, and healthcare.

Bain Capital Ventures closed its newest flagship fund at $1.6 billion in September 2026, exceeding its target.

Limited partners include Bain Capital's own partners, employees, and related entities as the largest investor group, alongside pension funds, endowments, and foundations.

The fund backs AI-native founders building category-defining companies across infrastructure (Crusoe, Poolside), applied AI (Cognition, Decagon, Legora), physical AI (Atoms, Sunday Robotics), health (Loyal, Forus), security (Adaptive Security, Dream), and services (Crosby Legal, Norm).
