Dorm Room Fund raised $50M, announced September 29, 2026, continuing its expansion from Fund IV, a $12.5M vehicle it raised in 2022 when it became independent from First Round Capital.
Limited partners in that raise included Chris Dixon, Marc Andreessen, Underscore VC, Insight Partners, and Quiet Capital, with First Round Capital remaining a backer.
The firm has backed more than 339 companies since 2011, whose founders have gone on to raise more than $14B in follow-on capital.
Investment Strategy
Dorm Room Fund typically writes an initial check of around $40,000 per company, giving student partners primary investment decision-making authority, a model the firm says distinguishes it from other campus-focused programs such as Rough Draft Ventures and The House Fund.
Alumni of the program have gone on to become investors at firms including Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
