Evertrue Capital closed its oversubscribed debut fund, Fund I, at $17 million, well above its original target of about $13 million.
Founder Yvonne Bajela turned down additional investors rather than expand the fund further, saying fund size should not create pressure to deploy capital.
The fund drew commitments from five institutional backers, including the British Business Bank and Basecamp, the fund-of-funds arm of Phoenix Court.
Evertrue Capital was backed through the British Business Bank's $536.3 million Investor Pathways initiative, which invested $120.7 million across 10 first-time fund managers.
About 80% of the fund's limited partners are based in the UK, with the rest spread across Europe, Asia, and the US.
