GMO VenturePartners is a Tokyo-based corporate venture capital (CVC) firm founded in September 2005 as a subsidiary of GMO Internet Group, with an additional office in Singapore.
GMO VenturePartners invests in fintech, payments, digital infrastructure, and emerging technology across Japan, India, Southeast Asia, and North America, from seed through growth stage with an emphasis on Series A.
Its eighth fund targets "fintech for the AI era" — AI-driven credit underwriting, stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and AI-native financial infrastructure that rebuilds rather than digitizes the mechanics of banking, payments, and commerce.
The firm can deploy both equity and debt, with debt financing supported through its affiliate GMO Payment Gateway.
In September 2026, GMO VenturePartners reached an interim close of $65M for its eighth fund, GMO Fintech Fund 8 (GFF8), targeting a hard cap of $78M as fundraising continues toward a final close.
LPs include Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Mizuho Bank, GMO Internet Group companies, and several exited portfolio company founders now investing back into the fund.
