Hoxton Ventures is a London-based seed-stage venture firm founded in 2013 by Hussein Kanji, bringing Silicon Valley-style conviction investing to European tech. The firm is deliberately anti-thematic and partner-only, with no junior investment staff, every company receives direct partner involvement from day one through exit. In ten years, Hoxton has backed 90 companies, produced 3 IPOs and 9 acquisitions, and helped create $4.68B in market cap. The firm ranks in the top 10 globally on the Founders Choice VC leaderboard and is one of five firms selected by NVIDIA to accelerate the UK's AI startup ecosystem.
Hoxton backs European tech founders building companies with global ambition, particularly those targeting the US market early.
The firm is sector-agnostic and deliberately avoids thematic investing, backing founders when they come across something significant, regardless of category.
Portfolio companies span deep tech, AI, cybersecurity, biotech, fintech, and consumer technology. The firm encourages European founders to attack the US market from an early stage, leveraging the partners' combined 50+ years in Silicon Valley to open doors that would otherwise be hard to access.
Hoxton Ventures IV, L.P. has raised $60M toward a $125M target, as confirmed by an SEC filing in June 2026.
The fund continues the firm's seed-stage strategy of writing $500K–$5M initial checks, occasionally going as low as $250K or as high as $10M, targeting 10–20% ownership.
LP composition is not publicly disclosed.

Investment Strategy
Hoxton writes $500K–$5M seed checks, targeting 10–20% initial ownership, and leads or co-leads early rounds.
The firm takes board seats and stays actively involved through the company's full lifecycle, three of its portfolio companies have gone public with Hoxton on the board.
The firm's US network, built through decades of Silicon Valley careers, is a structural advantage for European founders who need warm introductions to American customers, investors, and talent. Hoxton is one of five firms selected by NVIDIA to accelerate UK AI startups.
