Index Ventures raised $2 billion in new capital across three funds, announced July 31, 2026: a new $400 million seed-focused fund, a new $900 million venture fund, and a $700 million addition to the $1.5 billion growth fund raised in 2024.
The new capital brings Index's total available investing capital to $3.5 billion across all stages.
The raise follows the $32 billion sale of portfolio company Wiz to Alphabet, in which Index held roughly a 12% stake worth an estimated $3.8 billion, and comes two years after the firm raised $2.3 billion across two funds in 2024.
Leadership
Index Ventures was founded in Geneva in 1996 by Neil Rimer, David "Danny" Rimer, and Giuseppe Zocco. Danny Rimer went on to open the firm's London office in 2002 and its San Francisco office in 2012, focusing on consumer and enterprise investments including Figma, Dropbox, Discord, and Etsy.
Neil Rimer led investments including Betfair, Supercell, Trello, Typeform, Nexthink, Funding Circle, Revolut, and Roblox before stepping back from an active investing role in 2021; he remains listed as a firm founder.
The broader partnership today includes Mike Volpi (infrastructure and data systems, including Confluent and Cockroach Labs), Shardul Shah (cybersecurity and AI, including Wiz and Datadog), Nina Achadjian, Jan Hammer, and dozens of other partners and investors across the firm's San Francisco, London, New York, Geneva, and Jersey offices.
Investment Strategy
Index Ventures invests across all stages from seed through growth, with check sizes ranging from roughly $500K at seed to $50M or more at growth stage; the firm has grown its typical Series A check from $10 million to $15 million and its growth check from $35 million to $50 million.
