Inovia Capital invests in software and AI companies with global ambitions, from pre-seed through pre-IPO, and steers away from hardware-only plays, pure consumer or social apps without an enterprise path, non-technology businesses, and companies without global ambitions.
Its sixth venture fund is the firm's first fully AI-native vehicle, backing AI-native startups and frontier technology spanning cybersecurity, infrastructure, developer operations, energy, compute, robotics, and quantum computing, with 15 to 20 core investments planned across North America and Europe.

What the fund looks for in founders and which sectors it backs.
Inovia Capital has raised $200 million toward a $325 million target for its sixth early-stage venture fund, with a first close announced in October 2026 backed by returning investors Business Development Bank of Canada, La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, CIBC, Fondaction, Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Investissement Québec, and Teralys Capital.
The firm aims to reach its full target by the first quarter of 2027.
Fund VI follows Fund V, which closed at $325 million and has posted top-quartile performance against Cambridge Associates and Carta benchmarks, with portfolio companies including Cohere, Flare, Gaia, and Spellbook.
Alongside its venture funds, Inovia runs a third growth equity fund that has raised $365 million toward a $450 million target, a $100 million Venture Scientist Fund co-launched with Mila, and the Discovery Program, a fund-of-funds vehicle for emerging managers that it is rebuilding with Northleaf Capital Partners.
