LAUNCHub Ventures is a Sofia-based venture capital firm founded in 2012, investing in founders from Central and Southeast Europe and the region's diaspora. The firm has backed close to 100 companies over 14 years, with 18 exits and more than $790M in follow-on funding raised by its portfolio. LAUNCHub recruits successful entrepreneurs from its own portfolio as investors and team members, keeping the firm led by operators who have built companies in the region.

LAUNCHub Ventures writes first lead checks for founders from Central and Southeast Europe and the diaspora, investing at pre-seed and seed.

The firm plans around 25 early-stage investments over Fund III's five-year investment period, leading or co-leading rounds of up to $8M and holding reserves to follow on at Series A.

Two of the first three Fund III investments were AI companies, reflecting a tilt toward AI alongside the firm's broader generalist mandate across fintech, enterprise software, and consumer technology.

Fund

LAUNCHub Ventures announced the first close of Fund III at $73.6M, on its way to a $85M+ target.

The fund is backed by the European Investment Fund, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the EU's NextGenerationEU programme, the Romanian government's Romania Recovery Equity Fund, Bulgaria's Recovery and Resilience Plan, family offices, and more than 10 LAUNCHub portfolio founders reinvesting as LPs.

The International Finance Corporation is considering joining the fund's second close.

Fund III follows Fund II, which closed at $83.8M in December 2021.

Across 14 years and close to 100 portfolio companies, LAUNCHub has seen 18 exits, with 75% of its pre-seed and seed investments raising a follow-on round and around 40% reaching Series A.
