Lightspeed India Partners is the India and Southeast Asia arm of Lightspeed Venture Partners, operating from Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, and Singapore. The firm has invested in the region for nearly two decades and is now raising its fifth India-dedicated fund, targeting $250 million and already about 80% committed as of September 2026.
Lightspeed India Partners V is sharpening its focus on early-stage AI, specifically application-layer AI software rather than foundational model development.
The firm is betting that India's large pool of software engineering talent will produce specialized enterprise solutions that solve specific business problems, deliberately avoiding the capital intensity of building foundation models.
The fund invests across India and Southeast Asia, marking the first time a Lightspeed India vehicle has aligned its structure and cadence with the firm's global funds.
Lightspeed India Partners V is targeting $250 million, roughly 80% committed as of September 2026, with an investment period of about 2.5 years.
The new fund is smaller than its predecessor, Lightspeed India Partners IV, which raised $500 million in 2022, reflecting a strategic shift away from consumer internet and quick commerce toward AI-focused early-stage investing.
Lightspeed India Partners sits within Lightspeed Venture Partners' broader global platform, which manages over $65 billion in assets and closed more than $9 billion in new committed capital in December 2025.
