Mission

About

Mission is a Madrid-based venture capital firm that specializes in identifying and backing exceptional talent at the most nascent stages of company building. Formerly known as Demium, the firm rebranded in early 2026 to reflect its evolution from an incubator and accelerator model into a dedicated talent-focused venture capital house. Mission acts as a long-term partner for Spanish founders, providing not just capital but a foundational support system for entrepreneurs, whether they begin with a fully formed project or simply the ambition to execute. With over a decade of experience in the Spanish ecosystem, the firm has transitioned to a direct equity investment model designed to capture the value of the latest technological wave in AI and automation.

Fund

In January 2026, Mission announced the launch of Mission Fund I, a new 35 million euro vehicle dedicated to pre-seed startups in Spain.

This fund is the cornerstone of the firm's new identity and is backed by a mix of returning successful founders, private investors, and major public institutions including the Official Credit Institute (ICO) and the Valencian Institute of Finance (IVF).

Mission Fund I aims to build a high-volume portfolio by investing in approximately 80 startups, serving as the first institutional investor for many. The fund has already begun deploying capital, focusing on companies that align with the firm's thesis of reindustrialization through AI and advanced robotics.

Other Information

Leadership

The firm is led by Managing Partner Jorge Dobón, the original founder of Demium, who has been a central figure in the Spanish venture scene for over 13 years. He is supported by a leadership team composed of experienced operators and former founders, including General Partners Álvaro Callejo, former CEO of Ritmo, Julio Ribes, founder of Swipcar and Holaglow, and Mario Navarro, founder of Triple.

This leadership structure is designed to provide founders with "travel companions" who have first-hand experience navigating the risks and challenges of the earliest stages of a startup.

Investment Strategy

Mission employs a talent-first investment strategy that prioritizes the resilience and execution capabilities of individual founders over a fixed business concept. Their process is notably fast, often taking only two to four weeks from selection to an initial investment of approximately 100,000 euros.

The firm is unique in its willingness to back solo founders and co-founding teams at the ideation phase, helping them incorporate and build from the ground up. As the startups mature, Mission provides follow-on capital and strategic guidance to prepare them for larger institutional rounds, leveraging a direct equity model that replaces their previous hands-on incubation services.

Notable Investments

The firm and its predecessor have invested in more than 250 startups including:

  • Citibox
  • Voicemod
  • Singularu
  • Swipcar
  • Dealcar
  • Theker
  • Orbital Paradigm
  • Rauda AI

Notable Exits

Mission has seen several of its early-stage bets reach significant liquidity events or major follow-on milestones. Key successes include the acquisition of Swipcar by Cazoo and the rapid growth of portfolio companies like Voicemod and Citibox, which have gone on to raise substantial international capital.

Other

Mission is one of the few VCs in Spain that will write a check before a company is even incorporated. They are particularly valuable for high-potential individuals who may not have a co-founder or a finished MVP yet but possess the technical or commercial skills to build a category-leading business.

Their recent focus on "Deep Tech" and AI, evidenced by their support for companies like Theker (which recently raised a 21 million euro round involving Inditex), highlights their ambition to fund the reindustrialization of Europe through advanced technology.
