Redstone Blue is the dedicated ocean-tech and blue economy investment strategy of Redstone, a multi-strategy European venture capital firm founded in 2014. Based in Turku, Finland, Redstone Blue invests in early-stage startups building technology across sustainable maritime and port systems, ocean infrastructure and clean energy, marine intelligence, and blue biotechnology and water innovation.
Redstone Blue backs early-stage companies transforming ocean industries through innovation that supports more sustainable growth across maritime sectors, investing from pre-seed through Series A.
The strategy targets four areas: sustainable maritime and port technology (digitalized port operations, low-emission vessels, autonomous shipping, smart logistics); ocean infrastructure and clean energy (offshore wind, wave and tidal power, marine infrastructure); marine intelligence (AI-driven ocean data platforms, robotics, autonomous underwater vehicles, satellite monitoring); and blue biotechnology and water innovation (marine biomaterials, algae-based products, water purification).
The fund is explicitly Baltic Sea-first in its initial focus, leveraging the Nordics' maritime expertise and Redstone's broader European network of universities, research institutes, and industry players.
Redstone Blue announced a first close of $29M in August 2026, part of Redstone's broader blue economy strategy launched in 2025.
