Vicus Ventures is a New York and San Francisco-based seed venture firm founded by brothers Raj Singh Sandhu and Sunny Singh Sandhu in 2024. The name comes from the Latin word for village, a nod to the founders' Punjabi roots and their belief that the best companies are built with a village of support. The fund was deliberately capped at $55M in homage to Punjab, known as "the land of five rivers."
Vicus backs outlier founders at seed stage across AI, enterprise software, healthcare technology, and defense tech, with a particular focus on technical founders building in categories before they are consensus.
The firm gets involved before formal rounds open, when prices still reflect real company-building risk and early introductions can meaningfully change a company's trajectory.
Vicus Ventures Fund I closed at $55M in June 2026.
The fund was intentionally kept small and concentrated to enable true partnership with a focused set of founders.
LPs include General Catalyst (Hemant Taneja, Neeraj Arora, Paul Kwan), Bain Capital (Kevin Zhang, Amit Bhatti), Kleiner Perkins (Ilya Fushman, Mamoon Hamid), Zak Brown (CEO of McLaren), Jeff Wilke (former CEO of Amazon), David Blitzer (Blackstone Chairman / Bolt Ventures), Mike Novogratz (CEO of Galaxy Digital), Tom Hale (CEO of Oura Ring), Rohan Oza (CAVU / Shark Tank), Nehal Raj (Co-Head, TPG Capital), Mark Stevens (NVIDIA Board), Harjit Sajjan (former Defense Minister of Canada), Sumir Chadha (Co-Founder, Westbridge), Tracy Sedlock (COO, Accel), Andy Golden (former PRINCO CIO), Drake, Chris Paul, and Rampa Keinemusik.
Nearly every portfolio company has graduated to its next funding stage, with 10% already valued at $1B+.
Leadership
Raj Singh Sandhu is Co-Founder and Managing Partner, a Princeton University graduate who spent three years at Alphabet's Verily working on wearables and AI before co-founding Vicus.
Sunny Singh Sandhu is Co-Founder and Managing Partner, a Harvard Business School attendee and former Bain & Company consultant who left HBS to co-found the firm full-time in late 2024.
Investment Strategy
Vicus operates a "Winner Treatment from Day 0" model, providing hands-on engagement to every portfolio company from the earliest stages, rather than reserving active support for companies that have already found product-market fit.
The firm optimizes for how often it can be useful rather than for board seats or logo count. Beyond capital, Vicus provides portfolio founders with direct access to its "Vicus Village", a curated LP base of 55 global C-suite executives, operators, investors, and public figures who actively support portfolio companies on fundraising, customer introductions, hiring, and strategic guidance.
